The town of Paiporta received a visit this Tuesday from the Secretary of State for Commerce, Amparo López Senovilla, for a working day focused on the recovery of local commerce after the DANA storm. The meeting included municipal and business representatives, as well as those from the local trade association, ACOPA, to review the current state of proximity commerce and pending challenges.
According to data provided by the City Council, the consistory has launched two direct subsidy lines worth 1,468,000 euros to support local commerce in this recovery phase. To date, over 700 applications have been resolved, a figure that, according to the local government, accounts for more than 90% of businesses open in the municipality or close to reopening. Additionally, in 2026, 23 new establishments have been registered.

In parallel, the Ministry of Economy, Commerce and Enterprise has indicated that the ICO-DANA Line has allowed more than 2,800 households, businesses, and self-employed individuals to access 769 million euros in liquidity to resume their activity. From Confecomerç, the need to continue supporting small businesses to recover activity and employment has been emphasized, proposing stimulus measures such as new lines of Commerce Vouchers.
The City Council has also noted that in the last fiscal year, it allocated 60,000 euros to Commerce Voucher campaigns, tripling aid to the sector compared to 2024. During the Christmas campaign, 1,590 cards were distributed to incentivize purchases in affiliated establishments. This is in addition to 51,000 euros allocated in the 2026 municipal budget for the Commerce and Business Development area, a 7.2% increase from the previous year.
