“"With this second Equality Plan, we continue a solid and participatory line of work, incorporating acquired experience and reinforcing our commitment to real equality. We want this plan to reflect the needs of citizens and be an effective tool to continue building a more just and egalitarian Mislata."

The Mislata City Council has established the Negotiating Commission for the II Equality Plan, initiating the process to develop a strategic document aimed at consolidating gender equality and combating gender-based violence in the locality.
The creation of this commission on April 14 represents a new step in Mislata's commitment to equality. This strategic plan aims to transform the city into a space free from gender-based inequalities and gender violence.
Mislata was already a pioneer in 2018 with the approval of its first Equality Plan, an initiative that received very positive feedback from both citizens and social agents. The new plan seeks to advance this path, ensuring that equal treatment and opportunities between women and men are real and effective at the municipal level. Furthermore, it will allow the council to access external funds to implement other social and labor programs and policies.
The Negotiating Commission is composed of four feminist associations in the municipality with the largest number of members: the Mislata Women's Association, the Espai Violeta Association, the Por ti Mujer Association, and the Progressive Women's Association. It also includes technical staff and political representation, ensuring broad participation.
The development process of the II Equality Plan will unfold in several phases. A second stage will involve a diagnosis of the municipality's situation regarding equality, which will allow, in a third phase, to design an action plan tailored to the identified needs. The final document will incorporate the voice of citizens throughout the participatory process and will become a key tool for advancing towards a more just, egalitarian, and violence-free city.
