This action allows vehicles circulating on the V-11 to directly join the A-3 towards Madrid without needing to pass through the existing roundabout. To make this possible, an overpass has been built over the A-3 service road, with a clearance of 4.5 meters.
The new branch has been joined to the one exiting the roundabout, thus forming a direct access lane to the A-3. Additionally, the roundabout has been redesigned, reducing its radius to 20 meters and shifting it northwards from its previous location.
“"This commissioning will reduce the volume of traffic at the roundabout, where the entry and exit ramps of the A-3 service road, access from the V-11, and ramps to and from Quart de Poblet converge."
The Ministry believes that this improvement will optimize the operation of the interchange and road safety at this key point. This intervention is part of the actions linked to access to Valencia airport.
In parallel, work continues on the duplication of the N-220 carriageway between the airport interchange and the V-30 interchange, with a budget of 103.4 million euros. Complementary landscape restoration works are also ongoing, which include the construction of a bike lane and have an investment of 2.4 million euros, financed with European funds from the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
