The Torrent City Council has completed the installation of two new streetlights and a spotlight on Virgen de la Macarena street, improving safety and visibility in the area.

The Torrent council continues to advance its neighborhood improvement plan with actions focused on facilitating residents' daily lives and increasing safety. One of the latest interventions has taken place on Virgen de la Macarena street, next to Safranar.
Aware of the existing needs in the area known as the “mayor's estate” and its surroundings, two new streetlights and a spotlight directed towards the container area have been installed, significantly improving the visibility and safety of this path, which had always been dark.
This action responds to the commitment made by the mayor of Torrent, Amparo Folgado, to the residents of the area, with whom she has held several meetings to listen to their demands.

"It was a commitment we had with the residents of Virgen de la Macarena street, and today we take another step to continue improving this neighborhood and the quality of life for those who live here. From the City Council, we continue working so that all neighborhoods in Torrent have the same services, greater safety, and better infrastructure, regardless of their location."

Although the installation of an additional light fixture is still pending to fully connect with the Safranar ring road roundabout, the City Council explains that the presence of ditches next to the narrow path technically complicates the action. Nevertheless, the government maintains its intention to continue carrying out improvements in the area.
For his part, the Councilor for Urban Planning, José Francisco Gozalvo, pointed out that “this intervention was very necessary to guarantee greater safety for pedestrians and residents who use this access daily”. He also stated that “we will continue studying new actions that allow us to complete the lighting of the route and progressively improve the entire Safranar area”.
With these actions, the Torrent City Council reaffirms its commitment to more accessible, safer, and better-connected neighborhoods, addressing historical demands from residents and advancing the improvement of urban services throughout the city.
