Metrovalencia: 8.3 Million Users in April, Up 11.6%

The metro and tram network sees a significant increase in passengers compared to the previous year, overcoming difficulties caused by the DANA.

Metrovalencia facilitated mobility for 8,307,333 users during April 2026, an increase of 11.66% compared to the previous year.

Valencia's public transport network, Metrovalencia, recorded a notable increase in mobility during April 2026, facilitating the travel of 8,307,333 users. Of these, 7,102,016 used the six metro lines and 1,205,317 opted for the four tram lines. This figure represents an increase of 11.66% compared to the same month in 2025, when the rail network was not yet fully operational due to reconstruction work following the DANA storm.
Friday, April 17th, was the day with the highest traffic volume, accumulating 357,799 passengers. In total, Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV) recorded 9,911,509 passengers in April of this year, of which 8,307,333 correspond to Metrovalencia and 1,604,176 to TRAM d'Alacant.
The managing director of FGV, Alfonso Novo, highlighted that the April figures confirm a progressive increase in travelers throughout 2026, after overcoming the mobility challenges of the first half of 2025, when buses and trains had to be combined due to the unavailability of the entire rail network. Novo assured that, once this situation is resolved, efforts will continue to provide service and guarantee the daily mobility of users.
Regarding lines and stations, Xàtiva remains the busiest station, and Line 3 the most used. April 17th was the date with the most travelers, exceeding 357,000 journeys.
The most used metro line in Metrovalencia was Line 3 (Rafelbunyol/Aeroport) with 1,583,914 customers, followed by Line 5 (Marítim/Aeroport) with 1,327,742. For the tram, Line 4 (Mas del Rosari-Doctor Lluch) recorded the highest number of movements with 631,646 trips.
In terms of stations, Xàtiva (L3, L5, and L9) led traffic in April 2026 with 515,264 journeys. It was followed by Colón (L3, L5, L7, and L9) with 434,543 and Àngel Guimerà (L1, L2, L3, L5, and L9) with 318,699. In the metropolitan area, stations such as Mislata (L3, L5, and L9) with 197,560 movements and Torrent Avinguda (L2 and L7) with 194,877 stand out.
On the TRAM of Castelló, travelers reached 257,464, a 5.46% decrease compared to the previous year, with a total of 7,683 trips made.
