The Civil Guard carried out an urgent rescue operation in Catarroja, where a man was found partially buried in an irrigation ditch near the Albufera de Valencia, mobilizing emergency services early in the morning.

The alert was received around 08:10 AM when a farmer spotted what appeared to be a person trapped in a canal in the Sargues engine area, near the port of Catarroja. Upon arrival, officers found a man almost completely covered by mud, with only part of his face and feet visible.
To extract him, Civil Guard agents entered the canal, a difficult and risky area. They managed to pull him out unconscious and began resuscitation maneuvers inside the official vehicle while transporting him to a point where medical teams could intervene.
Once stabilized by the SAMU, the man was evacuated to the hospital. He showed signs of having spent hours inside the ditch, with symptoms of hypothermia and stiffness in his limbs. During the operation, one of the agents was injured and also required medical attention at a hospital. The action was carried out by personnel from the Alfafar Main Post.
