The Third Vice-Presidency and Ministry of Environment, Infrastructures, Territory and Recovery has initiated a new phase of action in the area of the CV-33 in Torrent, affected by the DANA of October 2024.

This intervention follows the reconstruction of the CV-33 bridge over the Poyo ravine, which collapsed due to the flood and involved an emergency investment of 12.5 million euros. That priority phase allowed for the recovery in record time of a road used daily by 48,000 vehicles, thus restoring circulation and connectivity under safe conditions.
Now, efforts are focused on the restoration and stabilization of the slopes on both sides of the road that were damaged, with an execution budget of 335,494 euros. The Generalitat has indicated that the affected slopes did not pose an imminent risk to road safety or traffic, which is why they were not included in the emergency works launched after the DANA.
However, the detected damages did require specific repair and stabilization intervention, which will now be carried out within the framework of the conservation contract for the central area of Valencia. The works will take place between kilometer points 7+500 and 8+000, from the CV-33 roadway and from the right-hand side links connecting this road, towards Valencia, with the municipalities of Picanya and Torrent.
Among the actions planned by the General Directorate of Terrestrial Infrastructures is the reconstruction of the slope profiles to ensure their stability against rain episodes, as well as the replacement of the fencing damaged by the DANA. Additionally, in the most affected areas, work with riprap will be carried out, while in less affected sections, stabilization tasks will be performed.
Furthermore, during the five months that the intervention will last, a section of guardrail with significant damage will be removed and replaced, and ditches and berms will be concreted to reinforce the protection of the section. The execution of the works will entail punctual traffic disruptions, common in this type of conservation actions, which will be duly signposted.
In some phases of the works, it will be necessary to temporarily close some connection ramps between the CV-33 and the accesses to Torrent and Picanya, a circumstance that will be communicated in advance to road users.
