Sebastián Ruiz Molina, who served as a councilor in the Alaquàs City Council, has passed away after a long illness. He had a prominent role in the political and associative life of the town.

After years of battling a long illness, Sebastián Ruiz Molina has passed away. He served as a councilor for the Alaquàs City Council for the PCE from 1984 to 1987, and later for Izquierda Unida from 1991 to 1995. Originally from Torreperojil (Jaén), he emigrated as a child to Torrente with his family, later settling in Alaquàs.
Son of a historic socialist from Torrente, Sebastián Ruiz Fernández, and father of the current socialist councilor of Alaquàs, Sebastián Ruiz Flores, he was deeply involved with the local associative fabric. For decades, he was part of the Alaquàs Sports Fishing Club from its foundation, actively participating in both competitions and social activities, and is remembered for the festive stew and popular sardine feast.
Ruiz Molina was characterized by his firm convictions, with clear left-wing and republican ideals, and was a defender of public services. He also promoted Valencian cooperativism, being part of the Tadel cooperative project, active in the furniture sector in Aldaia.
For over a decade, he participated in the Alaquàs Municipal Urban Gardens project from its inception, receiving recognition in 2023 as one of the founding users who continued to actively participate. The family thanks everyone for their expressions of affection and informs that the secular ceremony will be held on Sunday, June 21st, at 11:00 AM at the Alaquàs funeral home.
