L'Horta Sud has consolidated a positive trend in its labor market, recording a generalized decrease in the number of active job seekers over the past year. In June 2026, the region had 29,385 unemployed individuals, marking an absolute reduction of 1,535 people compared to the 30,920 registered in June 2025. This decline, equivalent to a 4.96% contraction, was supported by almost all municipalities in the area. Unlike the regional average, L'Horta Sud stands out for having reduced unemployment lists even among individuals with no prior economic activity, which saw a decrease of 397 active individuals.
The drop in unemployment benefited both sexes, with the female group leading the absolute reduction. Unemployment among women decreased by 926 active job seekers, falling from 19,602 in June 2025 to 18,676 in June 2026. Meanwhile, male unemployment reduced by 609 men, from a previous figure of 11,318 to the current 10,709. In the breakdown by age groups, those over 44 years old showed the most significant improvement with 703 fewer unemployed individuals, followed by the 25-44 age bracket with a decrease of 500 active individuals, and those under 25 with 332 fewer. Sectorally, services spearheaded the absolute drop with 524 fewer unemployed people, followed by industry (4,119), construction (1,783), and agriculture (411).
Torrent leads the regional labor improvement, having reduced its unemployment lists by 429 people in twelve months, bringing its total volume to 5,799 in June 2026. The reduction primarily affected the female group (263 fewer women) and the male group (166 fewer men). This improvement was driven by the services and industry sectors.
Other municipalities with significant demographic weight have registered notable decreases. Alaquàs reduced its job seekers by 140 (from 2,057 to 1,917), Manises saw unemployment decrease by 119 people (to 1,994), Mislata cut 105 unemployed (to 2,524), and Picassent recorded a decrease of 110 registered individuals (to 1,201).
The decline in job seekers continued steadily in the rest of the towns. Silla reduced unemployment by 96 people, Paiporta by 87, Quart de Poblet by 76, Alfafar by 66, Xirivella by 62, Catarroja by 60, and Albal by 57. The smallest absolute decreases were recorded in Sedaví (23 fewer), Benetússer (21 fewer), Alcàsser (7 fewer), and Massanassa (3 fewer).
In percentage terms, Picanya led the unemployment contraction with a 9.26% drop, reducing its unemployed volume from 551 to 500 people. The municipality of Llocnou de la Corona remained stable with 12 unemployed individuals. The only exception was Beniparrell, which registered a slight increase of 4 active job seekers, raising its total figure from 118 to 122 people.
