The operation began last February, when agents received several complaints about a strong and persistent odor emanating from a residential area in Picassent. This circumstance was crucial in directing the investigation towards a specific property.
Once in the residential area, agents identified the domicile from which the smell originated. Additionally, they conducted measurements at the area's electrical transformer, detecting a power loss consistent with an indoor plantation.
With the gathered evidence, the Civil Guard carried out procedures to identify the occupant of the dwelling, whose lifestyle was compatible with maintaining a marijuana plantation.
The operation was expedited in mid-March, when investigators detected a sudden interruption in electricity consumption. This prompted agents to act on the suspicious chalet through an entry and search.
During the intervention, 43.60 kilograms of marijuana buds were found distributed in seven drying rooms, as well as approximately 160 cannabis cuttings. Industrial equipment intended for drug processing, such as climate control systems, heating, irrigation pumps, and fans, was also seized.
The alleged perpetrator fled and remains at large for arrest. They are accused of a crime against public health for drug trafficking. The investigation was carried out by agents from the Picassent Main Post, and the proceedings were handed over to the Civil and Instruction Section of the Picassent Plaza Court number 2.
