The festive day began with a parade through the town's streets. The mayor, Eva Sanz, accompanied by the Councilor for Festivities, Ana Martín, and the municipal corporation, joined the 48 young people who make up this year's festive court. The route included an emotional meeting with Laura Marina Almudever, Festera Mayor of 2025, during her final official appearance.
After the parade, the festive lights were officially turned on, and the gala commenced on the main stage. The young members of the court ascended one by one to receive their respective sashes, tiaras, and bouquets of flowers.

Mayor Eva Sanz emphasized the importance of united celebration and acknowledged the work of Laura Marina Almudever during her reign. Almudever, for her part, described the experience as "one of the best years of her life".

The highlight of the evening was the election of the new Festera Mayor 2026. The outgoing queen, Laura Marina Almudever, drew the name of Nadia Mejías Martínez, representative of the Virgen de los Dolores brotherhood, who was officially proclaimed.
The proclamation was celebrated with a fireworks display. Subsequently, the handover of powers took place, with Laura Marina bestowing the sash and tiara upon her successor, and the mayor presenting the local staff of office. With the new Festera Mayor on her throne, Benetússer begins a week of festivities.
