The municipal decision comes after receiving numerous complaints from neighbors and local businesses, who reported problems in their daily activities. According to municipal sources, the action was based on reports prepared by local administration technicians, the Health department, and the Local Police.
Among the irregularities noted, the council highlights that the building's structure is not prepared for the storage and palletizing being carried out on the premises. In addition, files have been opened by the General Directorate of Public Health of the Generalitat Valenciana and the municipal Social Services department to identify the families being served.
The local government states that it has tried to hold meetings with the project managers to regularize the situation, but claims that the necessary documentation regarding the users has not been provided. The council maintains its willingness to negotiate, provided that current regulations are met.
Finally, the Alfafar City Council has defended its social care model, based on Valencian legislation that aims to eliminate 'hunger queues' and prioritize individualized and professional care through public services.
