The town of Albal is preparing to commemorate Book Day with an extensive program of cultural activities that will take place between April 17 and 23, organized by the Culture and Commerce departments of the City Council.

The initiative, which has the collaboration of ACIXEA, the Ministry of Sustainable Economy, Productive Sectors, Commerce and Labor of the Generalitat Valenciana, Unió Gremial, and the SARC of the Culture area of the Diputación de Valencia, seeks to promote reading and boost local commerce.
The program will kick off on April 17 at the Casa de la Cultura with the presentation of the book El Sant Caliç de la Catedral de València (The Holy Chalice of Valencia Cathedral), by its author, Jorge Manuel Rodríguez. Afterwards, the day will conclude with a poetry recital organized by the Cultural Association Friends of Poetry of Silla, ending with a wine of honor.
April 18 will be dedicated to families with a magic show starring Magician Pinchito, also at the Casa de la Cultura, a proposal designed to entertain both adults and children.
One of the highlights will be on April 19 with the celebration of the fifth edition of the Albal Book Fair, which will take place in the courtyard of CEIP San Blas in the morning. This event, organized by ACIXEA, will bring together readers and literature lovers in a festive and participatory atmosphere, where they can also discover the latest literary news, purchase books, and enjoy author signings.
Finally, on April 23, coinciding with Book Day, the Municipal Library will host two prominent activities: a children's storytelling session titled Més enllà del bosc (Beyond the Forest), aimed at children over five years old, and an oral narration session for adults under the name Els contes com les cireres (Stories like Cherries).

"Book Week is a unique opportunity to bring reading closer to all citizens, regardless of age. We want books to be part of the daily lives of our neighbors, from the youngest to adults."

Raquel García · Councillor for Culture and Commerce

"Promoting reading is investing in education, critical thinking, and a freer and more educated society. With the Book Fair, we want to boost local commerce, supporting bookstores and businesses in the municipality and revitalizing Albal's economy through culture."

Raquel García · Councillor for Culture and Commerce
The organization invites all citizens to participate in these activities, which aim to promote reading and bring culture to all audiences. Albal thus becomes a meeting point for literature, consolidating a program that champions culture as a tool for social cohesion and municipal revitalization.
