The municipality of Albal has prepared an extensive cultural program to celebrate Book Day, with activities taking place between April 17 and 23, aimed at all audiences.
The initiative, promoted by the departments of Culture and Commerce of the Albal City Council, has the collaboration of ACIXEA, the Ministry of Sustainable Economy, Productive Sectors, Commerce and Labor of the Generalitat Valenciana, Unió Gremial, and the SARC of the Culture area of the Diputación de Valencia.
The program will kick off on April 17 with the presentation of the book El Sant Caliç de la Catedral de Valencia, by its author, Jorge Manuel Rodríguez, at the Casa de la Cultura. Afterwards, the day will conclude with a poetic recital organized by the Cultural Association Friends of Poetry of Silla, ending with a wine of honor.
April 18 will be dedicated to family audiences with a magic show starring Mago Pinchito, also at the Casa de la Cultura, a proposal designed to entertain both adults and children.
One of the highlights will arrive on April 19 with the celebration of the fifth edition of the Albal Book Fair, which will take place in the courtyard of CEIP San Blas in the morning. This event, organized by ACIXEA, will bring together readers and literature lovers in a festive and participatory atmosphere, where they can also learn about the latest literary developments, purchase copies, and enjoy author signings.
Finally, on April 23, coinciding with Book Day, the Municipal Library will host two prominent activities: a children's storytelling session titled Més enllà del bosc, aimed at children over five years old, and an oral narration session for adults under the name Els contes com les cireres.
“
"Book Week is a unique opportunity to bring reading closer to all citizens, regardless of age. We want books to be part of the daily lives of our neighbors, from the youngest to adults."
“
"Promoting reading is investing in education, critical thinking, and a freer and more educated society. With the Book Fair, we want to boost local commerce, supporting bookstores and businesses in the municipality and revitalizing Albal's economy through culture."
The organization invites all citizens to participate in these activities, which aim to promote reading and bring culture closer to all audiences. Albal thus becomes a meeting point for literature, consolidating a program that champions culture as a tool for social cohesion and municipal revitalization.
