These unidentified images were found in the Poyo ravine following the flood. They are now part of a recovery project spearheaded by the Universitat de València and the Consorci de Museus de la Comunitat Valenciana.
The photographs, along with other albums and materials damaged by water and mud, were taken to restoration laboratories. One such active space is located at the Castell-Palau d’Alaquàs, which also hosts the exhibition ANDANA. Place of Memories until May 16.
The exhibition curators explained that the project has already restored two and a half million photographs, and they continue to receive more from affected families. The exhibition includes testimonies, recovered images, and documentary contributions, and now incorporates this call to identify lost photographs.
The mayor of Alaquàs, Toni Saura, emphasized the importance of showcasing this initiative at the Castell-Palau d’Alaquàs, a site also impacted by the DANA, and expressed gratitude for the involvement of the institutions participating in this effort to recover graphic memory.
