This measure is proposed as an effective solution to the high dependence on private cars, currently used by 90% of the park's employees. The announcement was made after a working meeting between the third vice-president and minister, Vicente Martínez Mus, and the heads of the Management and Modernization Entity (EGM) of the Technology Park, along with representatives from Mas Camarena and Heron City.
During the meeting, also attended by the general directors of Infrastructure and Transport, the saturation of access roads to the complex and the deficit of parking spaces were analyzed, problems arising from the high demand for daily commutes in the Paterna area.
This new shuttle service is part of a set of actions already being progressively implemented during the current legislature.
Among the actions already underway, the reinforcement of bus line L144 connecting Valencia with the Technology Park stands out, which has increased its daily expeditions from 11 to 48, representing a 336% increase and covering a potential demand of over 90,000 passengers. Additionally, the frequencies of Metrobús line 130 have been improved by 30% on weekdays to facilitate collective transport.
To complement these public transport improvements, the Generalitat is promoting measures that encourage car-sharing through specific applications and parking benefits. Furthermore, a commitment has been made to internal sustainable mobility with the implementation of a shared electric scooter service for travel within the park itself.
In the medium and long term, the Consell's roadmap includes more significant structural solutions. Among the projects under study is the creation of a bus-VAO or reversible lane on the main access roads to prioritize public transport during peak hours. Finally, the plan foresees high-capacity actions, such as the development of a BRT-type transport system or the future extension of Metrovalencia tram line 4 to the heart of the Technology Park.
