These works, part of FGV's continuous track and infrastructure maintenance efforts, are carried out during night shifts. A specialized train equipped with grinding wheels is used to mill the rails, restoring their original appearance and performance.
The operations on the tram lines complement the regular actions performed by the public company's Fixed Installations Maintenance Unit. Previously, grinding work was conducted on Metro Line 3 (Rafelbunyol-Aeroport) from late April to early May, covering 4.4 kilometers of underground track over seven days.
In parallel, FGV is undertaking numerous interventions through its 2026-2030 Action Plan, which boasts an investment exceeding 830 million euros. This plan includes a section dedicated to the modernization and renovation of older infrastructures, with an anticipated investment of approximately 280 million euros, as well as improvements to stations, customer service, and the incorporation of new rolling stock.
The Metrovalencia network spans over 161 kilometers of track, distributed across six metro lines and four tram lines, ensuring mobility throughout the Valencian Community.
