The town of Meliana has reaffirmed its role as a center of the Valencian orchard with the celebration of its annual tomato fair, attracting hundreds of people.

Meliana's traditional tomato fair has once again been a meeting point for residents and visitors, celebrating the quality of food grown in the municipality. The event drew hundreds of people interested in the flavor and freshness of local produce.
The direct sales market was the heart of the day, where local producers offered their harvests. Various types of tomatoes were available, including Valencian, pink, pear, and cherry varieties, all noted for their high quality and optimal ripeness.
The mayor of Meliana, Trini Montañana, highlighted the strategic importance of agriculture for the municipality's economy and identity, considering Meliana a tomato-producing stronghold in Horta Nord. She thanked the agricultural community for their efforts in keeping the orchard tradition alive and their commitment to excellence.
Montañana announced that municipal support for the agricultural sector will continue with an active program throughout June and July, promoting proximity markets and promotional campaigns to raise awareness about the benefits of fresh, seasonal, and zero-kilometer food.
Beyond sales, the fair offered gastronomic demonstrations, family workshops, and solidarity initiatives, consolidating Meliana's leadership in defending the regional agricultural sector and food sustainability.
