The Burjassot Local Police have intensified their supervision campaign for electric scooters, leading to the seizure of over one hundred vehicles for violating current regulations.

The monitoring and control of Personal Mobility Vehicles (PMVs) is a constant effort by the Burjassot Local Police, who have intensified their campaign of supervision and inspection of all electric scooters in recent months. Thanks to this campaign, over one hundred electric scooters have been seized for either not adhering to the appropriate speed, lacking mandatory insurance, or not being registered with the DGT.
The PMV control campaign involves verifying vehicle documentation, including registration in the DGT database, mandatory insurance, and compliance with speed limits, among other regulations. Currently, the municipal impound lot holds approximately 50 PMVs, mostly seized for lacking mandatory insurance or exceeding 25 km/h, thus violating technical specifications that severely impact road safety. The remaining vehicles have been returned to their owners after detected deficiencies were rectified.
Additionally, 12 fines have been issued for failing to register the vehicle with the DGT. The Local Police remind the public that scooters manufactured from January 22, 2024, must all be insured. Those manufactured before this date are obligated to register in the DGT database and insure any exceeding 25 kg in weight, with circulation on public roads prohibited from January 21, 2027.
