The City Council of La Pobla de Farnals has published the results of the 2026 Participatory Investments, where flood prevention and environmental awareness were the most voted proposals.

The process, which this year had a budget of 80,000 euros, concluded its eighth edition with a total of 434 votes. Of this budget, 48,000 euros are allocated to the urban core and 32,000 euros to the beach area, reflecting citizens' interest in improving the municipality.
The most prominent proposals were “Flood prevention and reinforcement” for the urban area, with 353 points, and an “Awareness campaign for excrement collection” in the beach area, which received 231 points. These initiatives lead a wide range of suggestions, including a new volleyball court, improvements to the Espai Jove facilities, and the renovation of the Casa de la Cultura.

"The results very well reflect the plurality of needs and sensitivities that coexist in La Pobla de Farnals, from issues related to safety and public space to sports, youth, and coexistence proposals."

Manuel Segura · Councillor for Citizen Participation
One of the most significant novelties of this edition has been the reduction of the minimum participation age to 14 years, a measure that has fostered greater youth involvement. The age group between 14 and 25 years has seen a significant increase in participants, rising from 47 in 2025 to 76 in 2026, also thanks to the support of the technical staff from the Department of Childhood and Youth.
The process, which began on January 8 with a public presentation, included phases of technical and economic feasibility studies for the proposals, as well as a voting period that ended on March 30. Now, the City Council closes this edition's cycle and opens the implementation and monitoring phase for the selected proposals.
