Rider Iván Ortolá from Puçol has achieved his first victory in the Moto2 category by winning the Czech Republic Grand Prix.

Valencian rider Iván Ortolá celebrated his first Moto2 victory by winning the Czech Republic Grand Prix held in Brno. The race was made more challenging by a 'long lap penalty' he had to serve.
Ortolá crossed the finish line ahead of his Kalex teammates David Alonso and Filip Salac. Championship leader Manuel González finished fifth after losing nine positions at the start.
Both González and nine other riders were penalized for riding too slowly during the second qualifying session. Rider Sergio García Dols from Borriana also received a penalty for the same reason, but during the first qualifying session.
In addition to the rider from Puçol, only Dani Holgado and Àlex Escrig managed to score points in this Grand Prix, which marks the beginning of the season's second half. Sergio García finished tenth, Ángel Piqueras twenty-second, while Arón Canet was the only rider to crash.
The rider from Corbera crashed on turn eight while running at the back of the main group. Despite the incident, Canet was able to leave the track unaided.
