The Foios Municipal School Council has unanimously approved its support for the teachers' strike, advocating for quality public education in the locality.

The Foios Municipal School Council, in an extraordinary session held on Wednesday, May 20th, unanimously agreed to expressly support the strike called by teachers to achieve quality public education. This decision reflects the commitment of the local educational community to the teachers' demands.
The Councilor for Education of the Foios City Council and president of the Municipal School Council, Juanjo Civera, stated that the members of the educational community, represented in the body, adopt the demands of the teaching staff. Civera emphasized that improvements in public education conditions will directly benefit student training.
The teachers' demands stem from the educational deterioration caused by high student-to-teacher ratios, a lack of teaching and specialist staff, excessive bureaucracy, and insufficient infrastructure. These factors negatively affect both students and the daily functioning of educational centers.
The Foios Municipal School Council has conveyed its position to the entire educational community of l'Horta Nord, including institutions such as IES Escultor Francesc Badia, CEIP Mare de Déu del Patrocini, and CEIP Rei en Jaume. Furthermore, it urges the Conselleria of Education, Culture, Universities, and Employment, led by councilor Carmen Ortí, to reduce ratios, increase staffing, reinforce diversity support, and improve working conditions, as well as to invest in the infrastructure of the IES of Foios.
Therefore, the Municipal School Council insists on recognizing the teachers' strike, considering it a consequence of the institutional response deficit from the Conselleria.
