The new street, located between Blasco Ibáñez street and the promenade of Mayor José Ros Lacruz, will now bear the name Guillem Agulló i Salvador. The naming was initially approved at the municipal plenary session in March 2026, with votes in favor from Compromís and the PSPV-PSOE, and the abstention of the Partido Popular.
The inauguration is part of Foios' IX Democratic Memory Days. The commemorative event began with a parade from Plaça de la Creu, enlivened by the group Amics de la música tradicional Pepe Palau and the Muixeranga del Carraixet, concluding at the new promenade with the participation of the young man's family.
The Councilor for Democratic Memory, Juanjo Civera, and the Councilor for Citizen Participation, Emma García, highlighted that dedicating this promenade is an act of social justice and a recognition of collective memory. They emphasized the importance of commemorating such symbolic acts to avoid repeating past mistakes.
The Democratic Memory Days will continue with cultural activities. This Thursday, May 21st, the Casa de Cultura de Foios will host the screening and discussion of the film ‘La invasió dels bàrbars’, directed by Vicent Mosonís. The closing event will be on Friday, May 22nd, with the theatrical performance ‘Rogles de cançons i misèria’ by the company Cactus Teatre.
