Foios Launches 'Llibre' Campaign with New Space for Contemporary Authors

The cultural initiative by Foios City Council includes activities for all ages, solidifying the municipality as a literary benchmark.

The Foios City Council, through its Department of Culture, has unveiled a new edition of the ‘Llibre’ campaign, an initiative aimed at promoting reading in the municipality with a diverse program for all ages.

This campaign, running from April 27 to May 8, introduces the new ‘En primera persona’ space, designed to connect contemporary authors with local residents. The head of Culture emphasized that this initiative establishes Foios as a cultural reference, with a strong commitment to knowledge and literature.
The new literary section ‘En primera persona’ will debut on Thursday, May 7, at 6:30 PM at the Casa de los Artilleros. The event will feature an author presenting her work La costura del magma. The presentation will take the form of a recital-concert, with poems performed to piano accompaniment.
The program will kick off on Monday, April 27, at 6:00 PM at the municipal library with a storytelling session for children over 5 years old. On Tuesday, April 28, at the same time, the library will host a storytelling workshop for babies (1 to 4 years old) titled El monstruo de colores. Pre-registration is required for both activities.
On Wednesday, May 6, at 6:00 PM, the Casa de Cultura will host a loud reading competition involving students from various local educational centers. Finally, the campaign will conclude on Friday, May 8, at Rei en Jaume Park with the presentation of the local ‘Premis Sambori’ starting at 5:30 PM, featuring a musical performance to close the event.
