The municipality of Burjassot will allocate over €870,000 to an ambitious accessibility and mobility works plan set to commence on Monday, June 15th, with projects scheduled for 20 weeks.
The Burjassot City Council, through its Municipal Services area, will launch various accessibility and mobility works starting Monday, June 15th. These actions are part of the Open Investment Plan 2024/2027 by the Diputación de Valencia and will represent an investment exceeding €870,000 for the municipality.
The works will include paving and resurfacing of deteriorated roads, sidewalk repairs, adaptation of pedestrian areas, and sidewalk widening, as well as improvements to pedestrian crossings. These tasks will be carried out over 20 weeks in different areas of the municipality, with the primary goal of enhancing safety for both pedestrians and vehicular traffic.
Improvements to sidewalk accessibility leading to pedestrian crossings have already begun, specifically at crossings near Parc de la Concordia, on San Miguel street, and at crossings on Paseo del Rajolar, Isabel la Católica, with Santiago Garcíam, and Guillem de Castro street, among others.
Additionally, the asphalt of over 20 streets showing pavement deficiencies will be improved, including those on Luis Vives street, between Mariano Aser and General Prim; General Prim itself up to the intersection with Luis Vives; Gregorio Marañón, José Luis y Antonio Ozores; Músico Gomis, l’Almara, or Bautista Riera. These works will commence on Monday, July 6th.
The project also includes work on sidewalks located on various roads within the municipality, such as Ausiàs March, María Ros, Actor Rambal, or Paterna. These works are scheduled to begin in October.
Overall, the works will enhance several parts of the municipality, not only improving their appearance but also significantly facilitating citizens' mobility.
