Work to renovate the boiler of the indoor swimming pool at the Benimàmet Municipal Sports Center has begun, aiming to improve facilities and minimize inconvenience for users.

The intervention, which will last throughout the next week, has been described as «historic» by the Sports Councilor. It started with the closure of the water supply to the showers, a service that will also affect both pool basins.
The councilor, accompanied by the district mayor of Benimàmet and representatives of the Neighborhood Association, visited the facilities to check the arrival of necessary materials and the removal of old equipment. She noted that the City Council has planned the action with the Autonomous Swimming Federation to minimize disruption.

"In recent months, we have also replaced shower heads that were in poor condition, renovated deteriorated sections of the pool's perimeter grates, and polished the regrouting of the walls of the teaching pool basin."

Additionally, other improvements have been made, such as the repair of the automatic chlorination system, the replacement of shut-off valves in the Domestic Hot Water (DHW) circuit, enhanced cleaning of the beach area, and the renovation of the sports center's reception with the installation of panels, television, and municipal logos.
The changing rooms are also undergoing progressive updates, including interior repainting and the renovation of the spinning room's bicycles, to equip the Benimàmet Sports Center with updated sports training material.

"The fact is that guaranteeing the quality of sports practice in our districts is fundamental, and in this case, we have met periodically with the Swimming Federation, as well as with the Benimàmet Neighborhood Association, to study and plan all necessary actions."

The councilor assured that one of the government team's priorities is to reverse the legacy of the previous administration in sports, which left federations and clubs with management agreements expired since 2015, as is the case with the Benimàmet sports center.
