The Orquestra de València is set to make its debut at the prestigious Musikverein in Vienna on April 16, under the baton of its principal conductor Alexander Liebreich and with the renowned piano duo Silver-Garburg as soloists.
This performance in the Großer Saal, the main hall of the celebrated Viennese auditorium, marks a significant step in the international projection of the Valencian musical ensemble. Prior to their engagement in Vienna, the public in València will have the opportunity to enjoy the same program on Friday, April 10, at the Sala Iturbi of the Palau de la Música, in an extraordinary concert priced at 5 euros.

"When the Orquestra de València performs at the Musikverein, not only will two cities meet, but also two musical traditions. In Vienna, where history is always present, an orchestra will debut that combines its Mediterranean identity with a clear European vocation; and it does so with a program of great artistic demand that will allow our ensemble to be showcased at the highest level."
The chosen repertoire for this occasion includes works of great significance. It will begin with the overture to L'arbore di Diana by the Valencian composer Vicente Martín y Soler, a piece that enjoyed great success in 18th-century Vienna. This will be followed by Daphnis et Chloé. Suite nº 2 by Maurice Ravel, a work that will allow the orchestra to display its renowned sonic refinement.
One of the highlights will be the performance of Johannes Brahms'Piano Quartet No. 3, in an exceptional version adapted for piano four hands and orchestra, titled Werther, arranged by Richard Dünser, which will premiere in Austria. The program will conclude with Richard Strauss's symphonic poem Also sprach Zarathustra, a work famously featured in Stanley Kubrick's film 2001: A Space Odyssey, representing a considerable technical and interpretive challenge for any orchestra.

"No aficionado should miss the extraordinary concert we will offer at the Palau with this same program, conceived for the Musikverein, as it will undoubtedly be a true musical event for our city."
The orchestra's participation in the International Classical Music Awards (ICMA), the recent release of Carmina Burana with the Accentus Music label, productions for ORF, RTVE, NHK, as well as ARTE and Mezzo, and recent successes at the Auditorio Nacional de Madrid, with three sold-out concerts, are clear indicators of the Orquestra de València's growing international relevance and projection.
