The mayor of Torrent, Amparo Folgado, attended the event accompanied by members of the government team and the municipal corporation. The institutional delegation spent time with the president of ASOGINTER, Juan Costa Gil, and other representatives of the organizing entity, demonstrating institutional support for the initiative.

The program included a variety of activities for all ages, such as dancing, snacks, face painting, and children's entertainment. These offerings contributed to a festive atmosphere, with the goal of promoting Romani culture and strengthening intercultural coexistence in the city.
The commemoration is part of International Romani Day, celebrated every April 8 to recognize the history, culture, and contributions of this community to society. This year, the event also coincided with the 601st anniversary of the documented arrival of the Romani people in the Iberian Peninsula, dated 1425.
During her visit, Mayor Amparo Folgado highlighted the work of social entities linked to the Romani community, emphasizing the importance of their efforts for inclusion and social participation. The Torrent City Council recalled that in April 2025, it approved an institutional declaration in homage to the Romani people, supported by all municipal groups, reaffirming its commitment to equality and social recognition.
