The deputy of Tourism highlighted during the official presentation at the Puertos de España stand that the Valencian tourist offer is “surprising, original, sustainable, diversified, very accessible and of quality,” and that it is fully aligned with current trends in the cruise market.
The initiative has been developed together with the Port Authority of Valencia and has included meetings with shipping companies, tour operators, and sector institutions. The objective is to position the province as a reference destination for cruise calls.
Among the experiences presented to the international industry are proposals such as the water route in Chulilla, itineraries linked to the Visigothic past in Riba-roja de Túria, active tourism activities on the Turia River by kayak, or the Roman heritage offer of Sagunto. These initiatives seek to diversify excursions beyond the city of Valencia.
“"This strategy will allow more municipalities to benefit from the economic and promotional impact of cruises."
The head of Cruises and Marketing at Valenciaport emphasized the interest of shipping companies in expanding their offer to the entire province, especially for repeat passengers who are already familiar with the capital.
The promotional action was completed with a gastronomic presentation at the ARLO Hotel-Wynwood, where a chef prepared Valencian paella, 'arroz del senyoret', and fideuá, accompanied by wines and cavas from the province. This proposal aimed to “tell the destination with the senses.”
The Diputación frames this participation within the destination's internationalization strategy and a tourism model based on cooperation, innovation, and the balanced distribution of tourist flows throughout the provincial territory.
