The First Section of the Provincial Court of Castellón has imposed prison sentences ranging from two months to six and a half years. The convicted individuals were part of a stable criminal clan, with assigned roles for the direction, transport, and storage of the drugs.
Two of the convicted, considered the leaders of the gang, received the highest sentences: six and a half years in prison and fines of one million euros. For these two, the prison sentence will be commuted to expulsion from national territory after serving two years.
A third individual, responsible for drug transport, was sentenced to four years and one month in prison, along with a 400,000 euro fine. Two other gang members, who rented properties for drug storage, received six-month sentences. The sister of one of them was sentenced to two months as an accomplice for helping to pay rent at specific times.
The sentence, issued based on a conformity agreement between the parties, considers it proven that the convicted individuals were part of an organization operating in the provinces of Valencia and Castellón, in which all of them had an assigned role.
The investigation culminated on December 18, 2024, when one of the convicted was intercepted by the National Police on the AP-7, near Castellón, with seven kilograms of cocaine hidden in the trunk of his vehicle. The drugs had been placed shortly before by two other convicted individuals, the organization's leaders, who were arrested that same day.
During house searches conducted in properties in l'Eliana and Valencia, more quantities of cocaine, preparation tools, and cash were found. The total amount of seized drugs would have reached a value of over 726,000 euros on the illicit market. The final sentence orders the confiscation and destruction of the drugs, as well as the seizure of assets and instruments, which will be allocated to the prevention and prosecution of drug-related crimes.
