A 31-year-old worker was transported to Ontinyent General Hospital this Friday afternoon, following a fall while working on the renovation of the municipal indoor swimming pool.

The incident took place on Vicent Lluís Montés Penadés Street, where the construction work is underway. The 112 Emergency Coordination Center received notification of the workplace accident, dispatching a Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance and local police units.
According to initial reports, the worker was conscious upon the arrival of emergency services, despite having a bleeding wound on his shoulder, a result of the impact from the fall. The Information and Emergency Coordination Center (CICU) confirmed that the event was reported at 4:11 PM and that the man sustained multiple traumas.
Municipal sources stated that the contractor for the works had signed a health and safety protocol with the city council before commencing the project. The council plans to contact the awarded firm to clarify the circumstances of the accident and verify compliance with safety measures at the time of the fall.
