The services sector in the Valencian Community recorded a 7.9% increase in its turnover during the past April, compared to the same period of the previous year. This figure is 0.4 percentage points higher than the national average, which stood at 7.5%, according to data published by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).
The growth in the services sector was observed in all autonomous communities during April. The regions that led this increase were the Basque Country (+11.10%), La Rioja (+10.40%), and Navarre (+9.70%). At the other end, the communities with the lowest growth were Balearic Islands (+0.20%), Asturias (+3.40%), and Canary Islands (+3.40%).
So far this year, the accumulated turnover of the services sector in the Valencian Community has experienced a growth of 4%, one tenth less than the national average, which has been 5%.
Regarding employment, the index for this sector experienced an annual variation of 0.6% in the Valencian Community. The employment index was positive in all autonomous communities, with Extremadura registering the best figure (+2.48%) and Cantabria the smallest increase (+0.11%).
