The mayor of Valencia stated that the council will be permanently vigilant to ensure that noise levels in the area are met, in compliance with a recent court ruling that sided with the residents.
Regarding the opening of l'Umbracle this weekend, the City Council has carried out measurements both on the terrace and in two private homes. These actions aim to obtain complete information on the emitted noise and the ambient noise generated. The definitive results of these initial measurements will be available soon, once processed.
“"We will be permanently vigilant to ensure that minimum noise levels and minimum coexistence situations are met."
The monitoring measure is not a one-off, but will be carried out systematically, as the council has a judicial obligation to safeguard the fundamental rights of residents. However, the mayor clarified that the cases of the nightclub and the festivals held at the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències are different.
She highlighted that the Generalitat is working with festival promoters and considers it important to reduce the number of such activities in the area. Any future activity should be authorized by a judicial resolution based on the incident of execution of judgment filed by the Generalitat, which has not yet been resolved, but an immediate resolution is expected due to its preferential and summary nature.
