The city of València will experience traffic cuts and parking restrictions this Sunday, April 19, due to the celebration of the third edition of the international Ironman 70.3 triathlon, which gathers 3,000 participants.

The cycling event, part of the Ironman 70.3, will be the most impactful on traffic. Cuts will be established in the La Malva-rosa area from 7:00 to 10:30 AM, and on the entire southern boulevard of València from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM. The 90-kilometer race will start from the intersection of Isabel de Villena and Mendizábal streets (La Malva-rosa) heading towards the V-21 and the Sierra Calderona.
To enter and exit the southwest area of València during the event, the only available routes will be Avenida del Cid (underpass), Ausiàs March-Pista de Silla, and the El Saler/V-15 highway (underpass). The return to València will be via CV-30, Mestre Rodrigo, Pío Baroja, 9 d’Octubre, and the entire southern boulevard up to the Assut de l’Or bridge with Paseo de L’Albereda.
In addition to traffic cuts, parking prohibitions have been established in several areas. From 10:00 PM on April 15 until 10:00 PM on Sunday, April 19, parking will be prohibited on Paseo de L’Albereda, between Plaza de las Falleras Mayores de València and Eivissa Street, as well as on the side closest to the central garden of Paseo de L’Albereda, between Eivissa and Tres d’Abril de 1979 Street.
Other restrictions include parking prohibitions from 7:00 AM on April 13 in the esplanade and adjacent streets next to Blasco Ibáñez School and Isabel de Villena Institute, from Isabel de Villena to José Ballester Gozalvo Street. From 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 18, the prohibition extends to all of José Ballester Gozalvo Street, and both sides of Mendizábal and Enginyer Fausto Elío streets towards Alboraia. Finally, from 10:00 PM on Saturday, April 18, parking will be prohibited on the side closest to the orchard of Avenida del Mestre Rodrigo, between Camp de Túria and La Safor, and on Avenida de Antonio Ferrandis towards El Saler.
Public transport will also be affected. The cycling event passing through the El Saler roundabout will require cutting the tram service from 9:00 AM to 2:15 PM, meaning the journey between the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències (Avenida de Antonio Ferrandis) and Oceanogràfic (Eduardo Primo Yúfera) stops will have to be made on foot. A total of 25 EMT València lines will experience detours, which can be consulted in the “Última hora” section of the EMT website and on their social media.
