The Valencia City Council has organized a double pyrotechnic event in the neighborhoods of Cabanyal-Canyamelar and Grau. This initiative aims to continue a deeply rooted tradition in the religious and festive celebration of the Valencian coast, highlighting the Semana Santa Marinera (Maritime Holy Week).
The first of the shows, a bombardment of white and violet colors, will announce the resurrection of Christ in the Plaza del Reloj. This event will take place at midnight from Saturday, April 4th to Sunday, April 5th, at 00:00 hours, lasting approximately 214 seconds and using 38 kilograms of gunpowder.
One hour later, at 01:00 AM, the celebration will continue with a firework display. This second show will be held on Martí Grajales Street, at its confluence with the Mercat del Cabanyal. It will use 44 kilograms of gunpowder and will last for about 390 seconds, including thunder, whistles, and volcanoes with a predominance of red, blue, white, and silver colors, culminating in a final earthquake.
Both shows will be carried out by Pirotecnia Tamarit, thus reinforcing the Valencian pyrotechnic tradition and the unique character of the Semana Santa Marinera. This proposal underscores the importance of pyrotechnics in Valencia beyond the Fallas, connecting various celebrations and consolidating its presence in key moments of the festive calendar.
