This Saturday, many municipalities in the Valencian Community recorded temperatures close to 30 degrees Celsius, values that are five or six degrees above the historical average for this time of year. This meteorological event is more typical of early summer than mid-April.
According to the Aemet station network, the highest temperature was recorded in Xàtiva, where the mercury reached 29.2 degrees. Other towns such as Ontinyent (28.6º), Turís (28.5º), and Bicorp (28.4º) also showed high readings. Meanwhile, the Avamet network detected the highest peak in Oliva, with 30.1 degrees, followed by Albaida (30º) and Montesa (29.8º).
This thermal anomaly is part of a trend that has been repeating in recent years, with increasingly warmer springs and anticipated heat peaks. Last April was already among the warmest in the recent historical series in the Valencian Community, consolidating a dynamic of positive thermal anomalies.
For Sunday, temperatures are expected to remain at similar values, with little cloudiness and light winds, favoring a summer-like atmosphere. However, a slight thermal drop is not ruled out at the beginning of next week, which would return values to more typical seasonal records. Meanwhile, residents and visitors are taking advantage of the high temperatures to go to beaches and terraces, thus bringing forward a scene more typical of summer than of the Valencian spring.
