The Valencia City Council, through its Department of Entrepreneurship, celebrated the First Entrepreneurship Awards Day, coinciding with World Entrepreneurship Day, to recognize the talent and trajectory of self-employed individuals and companies in the municipality.

This event, held on April 16, aims to highlight the impact of entrepreneurs on the local economy. José Gosálbez, Councilor for Entrepreneurship and Second Deputy Mayor, emphasized the council's commitment to those who create jobs and sustain the economic pulse of the city.

"From the Department of Entrepreneurship, we are not here to give empty speeches: we are here to support those who create jobs, those who take risks, and those who sustain Valencia's economic pulse every day."

José Gosálbez · Councilor for Entrepreneurship and Second Deputy Mayor
The day began with the round table 'Entrepreneurship: Vision, Effort, and Future', moderated by Javier Plaza, Professor of Civil Law at the University of Valencia. Participants included prominent experts such as Alberto Conejero, Vice-Rector for Students and Entrepreneurship at the Polytechnic University of Valencia; Rafael García Martínez, Director of the Entrepreneurship Unit at the University of Valencia; Javier Sancho, Director of the Science and Entrepreneurship Program at UCV; Paz Navarro, President of AJEV; Cristina Aristoy, CEO and co-founder of Singularu; and Isabel Domingo, journalist from Las Provincias.
The second part of the event focused on the presentation of the Entrepreneurship Awards, a call that received 83 applications in its first edition. Gosálbez highlighted that this high participation reflects the entrepreneurial spirit of Valencians and their ability to generate added value and diversify the productive fabric.

"Valencia has been built thanks to the effort of its self-employed individuals and entrepreneurs. People who take risks, generate opportunities, and keep the economy alive even in the most difficult scenarios. Today more than ever, this city recognizes and supports them."

José Gosálbez · Councilor for Entrepreneurship and Second Deputy Mayor
The councilor insisted that the future of Valencia is built by those who open their businesses every day and risk their future. He added that there is no more effective social policy than employment, and that it does not exist without entrepreneurs, self-employed individuals, and people who dare to innovate and advance in complex contexts. He concluded that entrepreneurs need fewer obstacles, more freedom, and clear institutional support.
The awards aim to recognize the trajectory and future prospects of self-employed individuals and companies in the municipality of Valencia, valuing the quality of their management, customer orientation, and ability to generate economic and social value.
The first prize, endowed with 12,000 euros, went to Encicle SL, a logistics and transport company with zero emissions. The second, of 9,000 euros, was awarded to Constantino Martínez Orts, orchestra conductor and music popularizer. Finally, the third prize, of 6,000 euros, went to 'Come sano y vive sano', a personalized nutrition center.
