The 'taronja' team, after the feat achieved in OAKA, where they won two games and brought the series back to the Roig Arena, is in an exceptional position to reach its first EuroLeague Final Four. However, the calendar is pressing, and the team has accumulated commitments with little rest between the continental tournament and the Liga Endesa.
The Valencian team must play its ACB match against Baskonia at the Roig Arena this Sunday at 7:00 PM. This comes with almost no time to rest from the duel in Athens and only 72 hours before that fifth game of the series. In this regard, Valencia Basket is looking for the best formula to face both matches with guarantees, but, evidently, prioritizing the duel against Panathinaikos, as it does not seem that the ACB will make a move to change the match with such short notice.
“"If there is no change, we will play with juniors and U-22 players on Sunday."
According to the club's representative, extensive rotations are expected for this Sunday. However, the coach will not be able to rest players freely, as regulations state that only three players with U-22 licenses can participate in a match. This team, moreover, is playing for its pass to the Final Six of the U League this very Saturday.
Furthermore, this situation is compounded by injury setbacks to the captain and another key player, which minimizes options for rest and giving minutes to more rested players, such as a regular ACB player.
