The Irheem sisters, who survived extreme conditions in Palestine, have been welcomed as visiting students by the UPV. The university has already guaranteed their accommodation, studies, and institutional support, but aims with this initiative to enable them to live with dignity like any other student.
The campaign's goal is to raise 500 euros per month for each sister, intended for food, transportation, academic materials, communication, clothing, and leisure. Donations can be made directly through the website set up by the UPV's patronage department.
Nariman, with an average grade of 9.91 in her Tawjihi qualification, has prior training in Cybersecurity Engineering. Her younger sister, Roba, also possesses a strong academic record and the same ambition to continue her studies. Both face this challenge with great resilience.
In the coming months, their daily life will focus on preparing for the university entrance exam through the UNED, before they can officially enroll at the Polytechnic University of Valencia. The Vice-Rector for Internationalization and Communication, José Francisco Monserrat, emphasizes the importance of the university community's integration in this stage of adaptation and study.
