The University of Valencia has called on the Consell to reach agreements with teachers to improve public education, in response to the strike by educators since May 11th.

In light of the strike affecting teachers of Early Childhood, Primary, Secondary, Baccalaureate, Vocational Training, and Artistic Education since last May 11th, the University of Valencia has urged for the achievement of agreements. The goal is to enhance the quality of Valencian public education, acknowledging that "public education faces difficulties that need to be addressed with a willingness for understanding and shared responsibility".
The university institution, considering itself "a benchmark in the training of educational sector professionals," has highlighted the importance of public education as "a key instrument for social cohesion" and "one of the essential pillars of the welfare society." It also emphasized the "essential role" of teachers and the "necessary recognition" of their work.

It is evident that public education faces difficulties that need to be addressed with a willingness for understanding and shared responsibility.

For all these reasons, the University of Valencia requests that, "as soon as possible," commitments be established to allow progress "realistically on the issues that concern teachers, students, families, and, ultimately, all citizens".
