This new proposal, driven by the Torrent City Council with the support of the Torrent Public Health Center, aims to foster healthy living habits through a wide range of free activities open to all citizens. The program will take place at various locations throughout the town.
The official presentation of the event took place last Monday at the Casa de la Cultura de Torrent. Key figures such as Mayor Amparo Folgado, Health Councillor Santiago Calatayud, and representatives from the health, institutional, and associative sectors attended, highlighting the importance of this multidisciplinary collaboration.
“"Health is not just the absence of illness, but a state of physical, emotional, and social well-being. These events allow us to bring health to the streets and closer to citizens with activities that help us reflect, learn, and improve our habits."
Health Councillor Santiago Calatayud emphasized that the goal is to provide citizens with practical tools to improve their daily well-being, focusing on prevention and healthy habits from an accessible and participatory perspective. This first edition, he added, is born with a commitment to continuity and significant involvement from local associations.
Scheduled activities include practical workshops on pelvic floor, laughter therapy, healthy eating, and sexuality, the latter specifically aimed at parents of teenagers. A cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and vital signs workshop will also be offered, along with a visit to the Horta Sud Museum accompanied by a memory workshop.
The week will culminate on April 24 with an open activity in the Metro de la Avenida al Vedat area. This final day will feature a parade with a batucada through the city, a snack with healthy juices, face painting, and various informational health booths. Participation in some activities will require prior registration due to limited capacity.
