Nigerian player Umar Sadiq has rediscovered his best form as a Valencia CF footballer, particularly after last summer's controversy when he expressed his desire to play exclusively for the Mestalla club. This Sunday, Sadiq will return to San Sebastián to face his former team, Real Sociedad, in a match that promises to be special for the forward.

His time in San Sebastián was marked by unmet expectations. Signed as the successor to Aleksander Isak, his debut was promising with notable goals, but a serious knee injury halted his progress. Following the injury, his lack of clinical finishing and playing style led Real Sociedad to seek his departure.

Valencia CF offered him a new opportunity, first on loan and then through a transfer. At Mestalla, Sadiq has found his best form again, scoring crucial goals for the club's survival. An example is his goal at San Mamés, which averted a more difficult situation for the team.

The statistics support this improvement. During his spell at Real Sociedad, Sadiq participated in 57 matches and scored only five goals, averaging 0.08 goals per game. In contrast, with Valencia CF, he has scored twelve goals in 39 appearances, achieving an average of 0.31 goals per game, nearly four times more than at his previous club.

His refusal to play for any other team besides Valencia CF, even foregoing the first half of the season, demonstrates his commitment to the Valencian club, where he has regained his best feel and effectiveness.
