Valencia's Russafa neighborhood is gearing up to host a new edition of the Russafart biennale, which this year celebrates its coming of age. From June 5 to 7, the city will become a grand stage for contemporary art, with the participation of 315 artists spread across 78 different spaces. The cultural event, under the slogan 'Coto Público de Arte' (Public Art Enclosure), champions the accessibility of artistic creation.
This year, Russafart delves into disciplines such as painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics, installations, muralism, textile art, video art, augmented reality, and digital art. Additionally, 27 collaborating businesses will open their doors to the biennale's proposals, expanding the artistic route throughout the city. The official presentation will take place on June 3 at Ubik Café.
One of the main novelties is the incorporation of the Nave Cultural 3 Ribes del Parque Central (CCNAVE3) as a new hub for experimentation, particularly for digital and audiovisual art projects, coordinated by Cisma Art and featuring collectives like Tars LAB and Space Circles. General coordinator Arístides Rosell highlights CCNAVE3 as a key point for innovation.
The collaboration with Mahou Cinco Estrellas as an official sponsor will also mark this edition, with integrated actions in bars and shops. Kicking off this partnership, on May 27 at Veneno House, a live artistic intervention titled 'La Mesa Cinco De Cinco' will take place.
Artistic coordinator Rebeka Catalá emphasizes the diversity and female presence, with 164 women artists participating, reflecting the plurality of artistic practices. The closing event will be on Sunday, June 7, at Sporting Club Russafa with a concert by Los Perricolas.
