The youth memoirs of former Valencia mayor, Ricard Pérez Casado, titled Agraït amb la vida (Grateful with Life), were presented yesterday at the Fan Set bookstore, drawing a large audience interested in his political and personal journey.

The presentation event featured the participation of editor Àfrica Ramírez, from Balandra; journalist José Manuel Alcañiz, who collaborated with Pérez Casado in writing the work before his passing on January 12; and the director of Levante-EMV, Joan-Carles Martí. The Fan Set bookstore proved too small for the anticipation generated by the publication.
The participants evoked the figure of the former mayor and emphasized the testimonial value of these posthumous memoirs. In them, the author reviews his youth years and offers profound reflections on politics, commitment, and the evolution of the city of Valencia.
During the event, both Pérez Casado's human dimension and his fundamental role in the city's recent history were highlighted. The speakers noted that the book not only reconstructs a decisive period of his biography but also provides keys to understanding his public career, his political thought, and the deep mark he left on several generations of Valencian socialism.
