The Rialto Theatre in València will host the play Les girafes dormen dretes by the company La Subterránea on May 2nd and 3rd, a production rich in poetic, social, and humorous content.

This production, with text by Ester Medrano and directed by Roberto Hoyo, is part of the Inèdits program, promoted by the Institut Valencià de Cultura (IVC). The program aims to support and give visibility to Valencian dramaturgy, offering a platform for new scenic creations.
The play, performed by Pau Gregori, Ester Medrano, and Marta Santandreu, transports the audience to the Savannah. Here, two characters—half human, half giraffe—live a love story marked by routine, upbringing, and various threats that jeopardize their relationship.
A third character, the Savannah's DJ/VJ, complements the experience with musical and visual accompaniment, using electronic music. This element introduces an ironic and critical perspective on sex-affective relationships, gender roles, and identity in contemporary society.
La Subterránea is a company based in València, founded by Lucía Sáez and Ester Medrano. It is characterized by working from collective creation and the experimentation of new scenic languages, seeking to innovate in the Valencian theatrical landscape.
Tickets for the performances can be purchased at the box offices of the Principal and Rialto theatres, as well as through the IVC's online ticket service.
