“"From the Socialist Party, we have filed allegations together with the Nazaret Neighborhood Association and the València Neighborhood Federation against the construction of luxury single-family homes on public land in Nazaret. As the Socialist Party, we denounce that this development was fully reserved and, coincidentally, today it is no longer."

The PSPV-PSOE in the València City Council has filed allegations to halt the construction of luxury single-family social housing in the Nazaret neighborhood, warning about the privatization of public spaces.
The socialist group in the Valencian consistory announced this Friday its opposition to the planning change proposed by a developer. According to the socialist spokesperson, this housing model, which the local government intends to approve, not only creates private enclaves thanks to regulatory reforms but also hinders the generation of social fabric in the neighborhood.
The PSPV-PSOE representative highlighted that their party denounced this operation because the developer had “reserved” all the homes even before obtaining the necessary construction permits. Following the complaint, the company has rectified, and the development no longer appears as “all sold” but rather as “coming soon.”
Furthermore, the modifications that the Popular Party intends to approve seek to transform public streets into private enclosures. Allegations have been filed against the elimination of pedestrian streets to incorporate swimming pools and common areas into this urbanization, such as paddle tennis courts and gardens.
The socialist official insisted that this model of luxury housing, which in a few years can be sold on the open market thanks to the legal reforms introduced, not only privatizes areas of the neighborhoods and does not help generate social fabric, but also creates private preserves. This model leads to speculation with higher housing prices and the transformation of neighborhoods into urbanizations.
The PSPV-PSOE, along with the residents of Nazaret, will continue to denounce this situation, filing allegations and demanding the paralysis of a project they consider highly suspicious and contrary to a sustainable and inclusive city model for its inhabitants.
