Valencia Cathedral hosted the ordination of six new priests for the Church this Saturday, during a mass presided over by the Archbishop of Valencia, Monsignor Enrique Benavent.

The new priests are Juan Manuel Martínez, Jaume Pastor, and Jose Vicente Masanet, from the Major Seminary La Presentación and Santo Tomás de Villanueva; Mateo Martínez and Luis González, from the Major Seminary La Inmaculada; and Pablo Morales, from the Royal Seminary College of Corpus Christi, El Patriarca. During the ceremony, they were accompanied by family, friends, and parishioners from their home parishes and those where they served as seminarians and deacons.
The rite of priestly ordination began after the readings of the Word of God with the 'calling of the chosen,' as it is the Church that calls through the Bishop those to whom the ministry will be entrusted. After the ordination by the imposition of hands by the Archbishop, the new priests received the stole and chasuble, and the head of the Archdiocese anointed each of their hands with chrism.
Finally, the Archbishop made a gesture of peace, and the Eucharistic liturgy commenced. At the end of the ceremony, the new priests received congratulations from their family and friends.

I am the one who has chosen you

On the occasion of the priestly ordinations, on Thursday, June 18, the Major Seminary 'La Inmaculada' in Moncada hosted a prayer vigil for the future priests. The gathering, under the motto 'I am the one who has chosen you,' included moments of Adoration, personal testimonies, live music, and a shared dinner.
