The Amparo Iturbi footbridge, which linked the Malilla and Creu Coberta neighborhoods, has been dismantled and replaced by a provisional structure 150 meters away.

The footbridge that for decades served as a connection between the Malilla and Creu Coberta neighborhoods, over the train tracks, has been dismantled. Workers have removed the structure from Amparo Iturbi street and replaced it with a temporary one that will maintain the connection while the track-sinking works at the entrance to Valencia, carried out by Adif, are underway.
The Mobility Service of the València City Council removed the Amparo Iturbi footbridge last Monday. The new infrastructure is located about 150 meters from the old one and will allow provisional crossing of the tracks until the access channel works are completed, according to the council's communication.
From the City Council, they highlighted that this new footbridge "guarantees the continuity of the connection between the Malilla and Creu Coberta neighborhoods, both for pedestrians and for cyclists or users of personal mobility vehicles (PMVs)".
The urban transformation resulting from the track sinking will not only break down barriers between neighborhoods but also, with the conversion of the track surface into green space and the restructuring of the environment, will foster greater cohesion between two neighborhoods that, despite their proximity, lead separate lives.
