The city of València celebrates the renewal of three of its most emblematic cultural spaces: Cines Babel, the Rosebud store, and Pedrones Guitars, which are reopening with new management and innovative proposals.

Gentrification has led to the closure of many traditional businesses in the city of València, but some cultural spaces are resisting and reinventing themselves. Three of these establishments, dedicated to cinema and music, now present a new image and direction, with the aim of continuing the legacy of their predecessors.
Cines Babel, known for its original version programming since 1996, has renewed its visual and graphic identity. Its website and social media have been updated, and the bar has been transformed. The new management, which took over the project in September 2024, has worked on soundproofing the halls and on the design, always keeping the cinema open to show the changes to the audience.

"We started working at Babel with open doors. We haven't closed at any point, so spectators have been able to see the work we are doing. We maintain the original essence of the cinema and its slogans, but we have changed the cafeteria to have a more modern image, and the design and website to be more intuitive."

The specialized cinema store Rosebud, located near the North Station, has also changed hands. Founded in the early nineties, it is now led by the founder's daughter, who has taken on the challenge of cataloging the vast material accumulated over the years. The store offers everything from posters to original soundtracks and replicas of cinematic icons, seeking to attract new audiences through social media and the Rosebud film club, linked to Cines ABC Park.
Finally, where the Stringfield store once stood, Pedrones Guitars now rises, a new space dedicated to the sale of guitars, basses, amplifiers, and a luthier service. The new owners, musicians and sound technicians, were loyal customers of the previous establishment and have taken over with the promise of maintaining its original purpose. Their goal is for Pedrones to be an open space for conversation, music, and creation, organizing events such as album presentations and talks.
These initiatives demonstrate that culture in València is more alive than ever, with entrepreneurs who trust in the city and its ability to reinvent itself, offering new opportunities to local businesses in the face of gentrification and large corporations.
