With just over a year until the next elections, approaches have been made between left-wing formations in the Comunitat Valenciana to seek a unitary candidacy and confront right-wing policies.

Political figures had already warned of the need to unite forces to defeat the right at the polls. In this context, meetings have taken place between representatives of Podem and Esquerra Republicana in the Comunitat Valenciana.
Concurrently, Sumar has publicly expressed its desire to reach an agreement to propose a broad convergence. This initiative aims to include Compromís and Esquerra Unida, the two main formations to the left of the PSPV.

"We cannot afford fragmentation. Faced with those who want to roll back rights, we must respond with more unity, and against those who seek to divide us, we must meet in the streets and institutions."

In a statement signed by the coordinators of Moviment Sumar País Valencià, a call is made to Valencian progressive forces to "walk together, with generosity, intelligence, and a sense of country". The formations have also been invited to participate with a unified banner and slogan in the May Day demonstration.
The leaderships of Podem and Esquerra Republicana met this Friday in València to analyze the current Valencian political situation. The main concern focuses on the situation of the Generalitat, with a Popular Party that they consider subservient to the far-right and the consequences this causes for citizens.
Both parties addressed problems such as housing and touristification, cuts in public policies like healthcare, education, or social services, and what they call an "attack on the language". They consider it urgent to agree on a space for reflection and conversation among the forces of the transformative Valencian left to join efforts and confront right-wing policies.
The spokespersons for ERPV and Podem have agreed to maintain fluid contact to establish the foundations for future collaboration. The objective is to improve the living conditions of Valencians, and they hope that the rest of the political actors of the transformative left in País Valencià will join soon.
